Favorite Love Triangles

*Updated 2015!*

-More to be added to list soon! -Feb. 2015

My favorite love triangle reads!

If you're anything like me, you enjoy a good love triangle in your books. So if you want to experience a love triangle in the form of a good read, I have compiled a list of my favorite love triangles:

Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi

My Goodreads review: "Surprisingly Uhhhhmazing!!!!! This book had me squirming at work to get home so I could read it! It has little of everything I love in a book: love triangle, angst, loveable/hilarious/realistic characters, hunky men, a bad boy, a strong female lead, suspense, a plot that is not too slow evolving, mystery, and much more!
I will be thinking about this book until I can get my hands and eyes on the next one.
I am so excited about Warner. I can't resist the bad boy! I love it when a girl can turn the bad boy into a slightly less bad boy ;) And I'm hoping their relationship continues to evolve in the next book. That's definitely what I'm looking forward to most!
I can't believe I put this book off for so long. It's amazing and one of my absolute favorites! An easy read, though still stimulating, and the words flowed almost poetically at times.
One piece of advice: Do NOT listen to this audiobook. It does not do the book justice! And the recorded voice is too young sounding for me, and gets too worked up too easily IMO. I am very satisfied that I stopped the audiobook and ordered the hardback print instead."

This series seriously made me so excited to read! Is is different in a GREAT way! I made my mom and three sister read them. If you like bad boys, then you will love Warner! My cousin liked Adam, the good guy, rather than bad-boy Warner. The fans are torn into two teams; Warner and Adam. Which one do you think you'd like more?

Existence series by Abbi Glines

First of all, Abbi Glines is just AMAZING! I love ALL of her books that I've read! This series got me out of a book funk and I could not put them down! I really love paranormal romances, and this one was not cheesy at all. I think Abbi's writing and storylines really appeal to young adults. I highly recommend the Existence series! The reading order is:
Existence
Predestined
Leif (book 2.5)
Ceaseless

Enthrall trilogy by Vanessa Fewings

This is definitely not a young adult series! Fans of Fifty Shades of Grey would probably enjoy these books. I knew who I loved most in the love triangle, and the ending was so great! There is definitely some possive-alpha-maleness going on here (yay!).

Wings by Aprilynne Pike

Laurel is teenager who is having a hard time fitting in to her new public high school; she has always been home schooled. But perhaps the reason she hasn't completely fit in has nothing to do with never being in public school. She discovers something growing on her back and soon enough it grows into enormous, absolutely beautiful wings! She gets help from her new friend, David, to discover the truth about her strange addition on her back. Through a few experiments, David confirms it- Laurel is not human. Laurel wants needs answers! She goes back to the woods behind her old house where she remembers meeting a strange guy (a very handsome and enticing strange guy) to try to get answers. Why does she feel a pull toward this man? Is he telling her the truth about her past or is he dangerous? She learns that this character's name is Tamani, and he says he wants to help. On her journey of discovering herself and what she really is, she falls in love. With two very different men. Her final choice is made in the fourth and final book, Destined. And I must add, this series has the most beautiful book covers I've ever seen. Please feel free to judge this series by its covers!

Thoughtless by S.C Stephens

Thoughtless is my favorite book ever, hands down. This love triangle is understandable. Kiera moves across the country with her boyfriend, Denny, because of his new job. She absolutely loves him, so moving with him was an easy decision. However, as soon as she meets their new roommate, Kellan, her future is changed. Her and Kellan grow a friendly relationship while Denny is out of town for work. Nothing happens between them until one night when things aren't going so well for Kiera and Denny. After that, everything changes. Kiera has these crazy, super intense feelings for Kellan, but she still loves Denny. He gave up so much for her and was her first for a lot of things. With Denny, she feels safe, and she feels like she owes him to stay with him because of everything they've been through. But with Kellan, Kiera's world is a roller coaster. She never knows what will happen with them, despite their strong pull to each other. Kellan offers passion beyond Kiera's wildest dreams. His emotions for her, and hers for him, are so much more than any she's had for Denny. Play it safe or take a risk? This series also has the steamiest scenes! You'll love it.

Nightshade by Andrea Cremer

Calla's life is going according to plan as a Keeper- a wolf who protects sacred sites. She is an alpha Keeper who is to marry Ren, another alpha Keeper in order to merge their two 'clans'.  While Calla must remain pure sexually until she is married to Ren, Ren is free to mess around anytime he wants. Does Calla really want to marry someone who boasts about his conquests with other girls? It doesn't matter much what she thinks- she has to follow the plan. That is, until one day while patrolling, Calla saves a beautiful man, Shay, from a bear attack. She heals him and makes him believe that he was just hallucinating. When he shows up at her school, he wants to talk to her and he wants answers about what really happened. Calla could be exiled for saving a human and exposing her true identity to him. Shay wants Calla to make her own choices, and he fights to discover the truth so that she can. However, Ren is really coming around. Calla learns his true feelings and intentions. Does she love both men? Should she follow her destiny or make her own? Her decisions will not only impact her own life, but also the lives of the rest of the keepers, in particular her family and packmates.

Twilight by Stephenie Meyer

Must I even explain this love triangle? Oh, alright, I will. Just in case. Bella Swan is a quiet, shy teenage girl who moves in with her father in a cloudy, cold town. Her first day of school she meets the most gorgeous man she's ever seen- Edward. But here's the problem. He acts like he's absolutely disgusted just by being anywhere near her. Once she finds out what's really going on with his strange behavior toward her, love is easy to find with him. In the second book, New Moon, an incident occurs that causes Edward to leave. Bella is absolutely broken. Her old friend from when she was very young, Jacob, is there to help pick up the pieces. Their friendship is easy going and helps take Bella's mind off of her heart break. But Jacob wants more. Perhaps Bella can be happy with him? Their love triangle really comes together in the third book, Eclipse, where she finds out that you can love two people at once. But who does she love more? Duh.

Birthmarked by Caragh M. O'Brien

Gaia is a midwife- she delivers babies for women outside of the Enclave. She, as well as everyone else, is under control of the Enclave. When her parents go missing, a young, very attractive guard- Leon- comes to question her. Later Gaia is caught trying to rescue her parents from the Enclave, where she finds out who Leon really is within the Enclave. He helps her along the way, even helping her eventually escape. Their feelings for each other grow strongly. In the second book, Prized, Gaia is separated from Leon as she journeys out for help into the unknown. Once there, she meets many new people, two of which happen to be brothers who both fall in love with her. Gaia becomes the 'it' girl in this new, strange place. They hold a tournament for the men and the winner gets to choose one girl to live with for a month. Imagine Gaia's surprise when Leon is in the tournament! Who wins the tournament? Do they pick Gaia? And does Gaia love the brothers? This story doesn't have a love triangle- it has a love square!

Fallen by Lauren Kate

Luce moves to a new school for troubled students after a horrifying event took place in her life. She meets a mysterious boy, Daniel, whom Luce can't stop thinking about. She swears she's met him before, and he is easily the most gorgeous man she's ever seen. There's one problem: He wants nothing to do with her. It is only too easy to let another bad boy, Cameron, try to swoon her. He obviously likes her, but for some reason, Luce just wants to get to the bottom of who Daniel is. The truth could kill her, though, so finding facts is hard to accomplish.

Unearthly by Cynthia Hand

Clara is having strange dreams- almost as if they are visions. They are repeating, like they're trying to tell her something. Finally her mother admits that their family has angel blood. How do you even make such a hard decision? The love triangle gets going in book #2, Hallowed.

The Iron King by Julie Kagawa

Meghan Chase is somewhat of a social outcast at her school. Her parents don't have money. She doesn't wear the most fashionable clothes. But she has a great best friend, Robbie (Puck), who is a silly character and always makes her laugh. She soon learns why she's never fit in; she is half faery. Not only that, her real father is the King of the Summer Court. Once she enters the Nevernever, she meets Prince Ash from the Winter court. He is beautiful, a gorgeous contrast of pale and dark. Summer and Winter don't get along at all, so Meghan starts to develop feelings for Ash, and she thinks he may reciprocate, they can't really act on it. Later in the series, Ash leaves Meghan, and Puck is there for her. She learns about Puck's true feelings for her, and she wonders what her true feelings for him are. Later in the series she must make a choice. One choice will keep her in the Summer Court as a Princess. Another choice will ban her from the Nevernever forever.

 Tiger's Curse by Colleen Houck

Kelsey finds a summer job at the local circus. She finds out a secret about the tiger that performs in the shows, and it changes her life. She was destined to meet this tiger, and to help break a curse to free him. Along her journey, she meets Ren and Kishan. Ren is the all-around good guy. He's sweet and charming, romantic and handsome. Then there's Kishan. He's a bad boy; Dresses in black, takes risks, flirts shamelessly with Kelsey even though his brother hates it, and has a generally less-serious lifestyle. Kelsey would be happy with either man. She sees the best of both worlds throughout this series, but even when she wants to make a choice, there's a problem. A big problem. I won't spoil the surprise, though. The fourth book isn't released yet, but I still can't decide who she should choose. I know who she will choose, but if it were up to me, I might choose differently.

Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare

Tessa is in search of her brother when she is kidnapped. Evil sisters train her to use a power that she never knew she had. Then to make matters worse, she finds out that she is being set up to marry a man she has never met, but she's pretty sure he's not good news. When she is rescued by strangers, she starts to get some answers. She meets Will, a gorgeous blue-eyed boy, who is a wild child. Then there's his best friend, Jem, who is a beautiful mix of lights and darks. Tessa is drawn to Will, but he's not okay with settling down. There are secrets about his past that Tessa doesn't know. So while things aren't happening with Will, things do happen with Jem. He is steady and reliable, and his feelings for Tessa are true. Tessa discovers secrets, Jem battles for his life, and Will tries to rid himself of a curse from the past so that he can love again. Will it be too late?

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
Katniss is a kick-ass young woman. She is an amazing older sister, and volunteers herself for certain death in place of her sister. All the while, she doesn't know if she has feelings for her good friend, Gale, who every other girl is in love with. She has to pretend to be in love with Peeta to try to save their lives. It's a complicated situation; Peeta admitted that he had always been in love with her, and after she thinks maybe there is something there with them, Gale admits he also has feelings for her. What's a girl to do? There are more important things for Katniss to deal with than boys, though. She needs to make sure her family is safe and healthy. The time will come, though, later in the series when she must choose.

Shade by Jeri Smith-Ready
Aura can see ghosts. So can anyone who was born after her. All of these young people on the planet can see ghosts, but they don't know why. Aura's boyfriend, Logan, tragically dies at a party one night, but she can't move on- she can still hear, see, and talk to his ghost! Then she meets Zachary who is alive and cannot see ghosts. A part of her wants to move on, maybe with Zachary, but it is impossible when Logan still acts as if they are together. This is a heart-breaking story, but it also warms my heart at the same time. She needs to find a way to get closure, or Logan won't be able to move onto the next world and he will be stuck in-between worlds. It is up to Aura to help him.

Endless Summer by Jennifer Echols

This book had me laughing so hard! Lori is so spunky and really gives you that teenage feel with her witty attitude and loads of energy. She has always crushed on her neighbor, Sean, and makes big plans to reel him in this Summer. Sean's younger brother, Adam, gets involved in this plan as he pretends to be Lori's boyfriend. Plan jealousy is underway! However, Lori does not expect to actually grow feelings for Adam. I mean, she wants Seth, right? And once Seth comes around and shows interest, Lori is having a hard time sorting out her feelings. She makes a lot of dumb decision, as do the rest of the characters, but it brings it all back to making a final decision. Who does Lori truly have feelings for?

Need by Carrie Jones

The Need series is about a girl named Zara who moves to Maine after her stepfather's death to live with her Grandmother. She soon discovers that there are strange things happening in their little town of Bedford. Zara keeps hearing someone in the woods calling her voice, but that's too strange to believe, right? Wrong. She learns about the existence of pixies, weres, and other kinds of fae, and even finds out something about herself- and her past that lead her to Bedford, Maine in the first place. A love triangle is in the making in the second book, Captivate, and we see it play out between Zara, Nick, and Astley in the rest of the series as well. I was extremely happy with how the love triangle ended.
